黑龙江十一选五直播:Lower School Character Development & OUTREACH
体彩前三直玩法介绍 www.2djw.net While we want your child to develop into an accomplished student, we also want him or her to be a kind, caring and compassionate person. That is why we teach character development skills as part of the regular curriculum, engaging our students to develop essential character traits including respect and integrity.
Character Development Methods
With dedicated character development classwork starting in kindergarten, we infuse social and emotional learning into everything we do here at Harker’s lower school.
- In the classroom, teachers cover respect, gratitude and kindness lessons with classwork, discussion topics, activities and service projects.
- On the playground, students learn to play fairly and safely.
- In any environment, students learn to use tools from The Toolbox Project, including apology/forgiveness and patience/courage to handle stressful situations or challenging emotions like anger and disappointment.
We infuse service learning into all grade levels at Harker. While our kindergartners are beautifying our campus as they plant a new tree each spring, our fifth graders are hosting a food drive for needy families. Our outreach activities support academic learning, compassion and deeper connections to the community and the world to inspire them to make a difference.
